CenterPoint Energy South Houston Dielectric Oil Handling Facility

Morris + Associates aided in the design of a facility for CenterPoint Energy to receive, store, and distribute two classifications of dielectric oil used in transformers, capacitors, insulators, circuit breakers, and switches.  The project scope included 3 - 20,000 gallon double-wall above ground storage tanks, piping, manifolds, loading/unloading pumps, leak detection, loading racks, spill containment and monitoring, custom PLC controls, alarm systems and security systems.

Morris provided schematic design, design documents, and construction administration for the project. Services included concept design, environmental design, cost estimates, surveying, soil tests, civil and structural engineering, piping design, pump sizing and permitting with the City of Houston.
